Discover Ayurveda! Back to the beginning of the universe! Not a story of a monster doll, not a ghost story, but a science of the mind.

The concept of wellness in Bharatiya culture has a thousand-year history. The time has entered the Mahakal. Mahakal means history of  big and big time. The lifestyle also changed in due course. Science and Technology developed in their own way. People have got speed and comfort, losing their emotions.  But the indian concept of wellness till now centres around the mind and body. Ignoring the body and mind, you cannot be a happy and successful man.

Modern medical science treats diseases, but not the mind and wellness. Day by day, Ayurveda is gaining its importance. The holistic knowledge of Ayurveda is the complete knowledge of the body.   Mind and Body are not only the subject of Ayurveda mind and spirit, including the emotions and psychology at all levels.

History And Mythology:

Science of health of mind

There are innumerable stories centring around the ancient indian medical system of Ayurveda. These stories portray how deeply the science of medicine was understood among indian sages, and the available scriptures of Ayurveda are living proof of the same. Though modern medical science has made inroads in our family, we cannot turn down Ayurveda.  This Indian science provides complete knowledge of the body, mind and spirit. It also includes psychology and emotions at all levels. The Ayurvedic science considers therapies for longevity, rejuvenation, and self-realisation through herbs, diet, exercise, yoga, massage, aromatherapy, mantras, and meditation.

Ancient Indian wisemen described science through mythology. According to the description, Bhramma, the creator of our universe, memorised the Ayurveda Science and delivered it to Prajapati Daksha. He delivered the science in the form of Sruti. Sruti means not in a scripture form, but in memory.

In the form of  Brihat Trayi (meaning Three )  ,

 Charak Smriti,

 Susratha Samhita

 and the Ashatanga Samhita.

In Hinduism, Lord Brahma is the creator of the world. He memorised the science first; otherwise, his creation would suffer in the universe.

After memorising the science, lord Bhisnu delivered it to Prajapati Daksha. Prajapati, the father of Parvati, who was the wife of Shiva, delivered the science to the twin Gods, Aswani. Aswini become the Doctor of the Goddess. Twin Aswani conferred it on Indra, who is the king of the gods and goddesses.

Herbal as a Medicine

In those days, God and Goddess used to go to war with the Asura. Sometimes the God and Goddess lost their head in the battle. Twin Aswini devas replaced the head with a horse head, and in other ways. The devas with hose-headed were called " Hay Greeve ".In Greek mythology, some descriptions of horsemen were available.

AyurVada was then limited to Devas. But the people of the earth were suffering from illness and pain, and there were no remedies. Our rishis tried to solve the matter but failed. Through meditation, the Rishis came to know that Indra, the King of the Heaven, knew the science . Then the assembled Rishis deputed three eminent Rishis to go to Indra to learn Ayurvedic science. Dhanwantari, Kasyap and Bharadwaj went to Indra to learn the Medicine Science. Nowadays, they are in the memory of people in everyday life. People have used the word Dhanwantari to explain a good doctor till today.

Another Ayurvedic story from the past is in the public domain. In the early age of civilisation, both devas and demons were debilitated by age, illness and battle. Both went to Vishnu, the God of Preservation, to learn the way to regain their youth, strength and health.

Lord Vishnu, who incarnated 9 times, as an Avatar for the well-being and wellness of the people. He asked to go to Dhanwantari, who knows the science of health of the mind. He also told Devas that Dhanwantari would provide them with knowledge and instruction on how to live following the principles of  Ayurveda.

Then Lord Vishnu told the Gods to invoke Dhanwantari. Vishnu explained that they must select the number of species of herbs and threw these into the sea. Lord Vishnu formed a rod using the mountain a churning rod, the God and demon churned the ocean. Lord Visnu would form the base of the mountain, taking the form of the mountain. The powerful Vasuki would be the rope. The gods and demons followed the instructions of Visnu. The selected herbs were thrown into the sea, and Churn began.

But the process was going wrong without praying to God. The activities of Churun did not start with a prayer to Lord  Ganpati. The Vasuki, the great snake, said to the participant of Churun that he will spit out his venomous if he becomes exhausted, and the world will be poisonous.

The god and demon went to Lord Shiva to do something about the poison. Lord Shiva promised to drink the poison. In the event ,he drank all the poison and made the world poison-free.  His neck became bluish, so he was called "Neelkantha".

The churning began to produce the gems, beautiful trees, elephants, god and goddess etc.All came out from the Churan. Finally, the Dhawantwari came out with the elixir of life that is called "Amrita".

It is the story in the Puran Katha. Puran is the history of the Big Past mixed with the story.  In the beginning, the earth was poisonous. People and demon were losing their health. It was necessary to make the earth poison-free. The people, with the help of Dhawantari, made the world a poison-free place. Ancient healing science came out through the event in its own way. It happened lakhs of years ago.
