In the Western world, Yoga is an exercise associated with health and fitness. A few people in the Western world knew yoga in its real sense.
In the Indian context, it is more than exercise associated with mind and mind control. It is a spiritual journey of a human being to connect himself with the universe. Core power yoga explores consciousness.
Raja Yoga and Raja Yoga means the Royal path of Yoga. Raja means royal. Patanjali, the Great Rishi of India and father of Yoga told us that there are 8 limbs of Yoga,i.e. Ashtanga Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga. Asta means 8 and Anga means component.
Yoga is a combination of some actions. It is a process of self-improvement. Some schools specialise in yoga and divide it into two parts. One is Hota Yoga and the other is Raja Yoga.
Hota yoga is related to improving the Body and Raja Yoga is associated with improving the mind.
Patanjali's sutras and Patanjali's Sutras have explained Raja Yoga in the following way :
(1) Samadhi
(2) Sadhana
(3) Siddhi
(4) Kaivalya
Sadhana means Tapasya . Sadhana is the practice of controlling the mind. Mind is more moving than any others. It is unstable and turbulent in nature. You have to Practice to control the mind.
Samadhi and Samadhi is the concentration of mind that elope the present moment and connects yourself with the universe.
Shiddi means achievement. It is the stage in which the yogi can feel the universe that is embedded in him as a small. Such a small is the part of the Great.
Kaivalya means an extraordinary stage of mind that can be achieved through yoga and meditation. He lives in joy. He can be a free man.

Astanga Yoga and AstangaYoga means eight limbs. These are concepts of extended yoga that to be followed for better results.
1) Yama means restraints
2) Niyama means rule.
3) Asana means postures
4) Pranayama means consciously regulated breathing.
5) Pratyahara means sensory withdrawal including Sex
6) Dharana means controlling the mind and practice of concentration.
7) Dhyana means practice of concentration.
8) Samadhi achieved deep concentration with consciousness.
Shri Aurobindo, a great Yogi of the modern age, explained Raj Yoga and Raja Yoga in the following way:
"Raja yoga, operating with the mind, aims at a supernormal perfection and enlargement of the capacities of the mental life and goes beyond into the domain of the spiritual existence ".
Yama means what to do or not to do in the daily way of life. Our life should be tagged with a good and positive attitude. Yama and Niyama are the self-purification process.
Niyama means to follow the rules and discipline. In everyday, life we should be a early riser. It is a Niyama. Our house should be cleansed, and our clothes should be clean. It is a rule.
