Social media is not so social. Artificial connectivity cannot foster any meaningful social bonding. You cannot be active without a mobile. The use and misuse of mobiles has become a serious matter. The user is ignoring society, family, and friends. Our presence is everywhere, but at the end of the day, we are nowhere.

How can we lead our lives without social connectivity and bonding?

We are afraid of online backwardness. Even in the family celebration, people like to live in a mobile home. It is also found that, when present at the social festival, they ignore those sitting in the corner. Exchange of emotions, senses, love and interaction with other participants inspired us to be social.

From Covid, smartphones are extensively used by students in both private and government schools. Nowadays, students are using smartphones for enjoyment .

Above all, a great debate sparked throughout the world. Whether a student should be allowed to use a smartphone. Throughout the world, including advanced countries banned use of smartphone to the student.

India government has not taken any initiative to ban the smartphone to the student. But the Himachal Pradesh state government takes the initiative to ban the smartphone to the student and the age group of under sixteen. The Karnataka government has proposed to ban smartphone to the boys under sixteen. Andhra Pradesh has announced a ban on smartphones for boys under thirteen.

Accessibility: Restriction on use is more desirable than imposing a ban on Smartphones. Some countries are opting for restrictions on the use of social media. Australia is the first country to announce restrictions on the use of Smartphone to the children under 16. It imposes restrictions on "high-risk" social media platforms.

France National Assembly imposed such restrictions on the use of smartphones. Poland is also preparing such a restriction on the use of smartphones. India is planning strategies to restrict children from the use of smartphones.

Induction of Law: India is yet to formulate a policy to control the use of smartphones. The court overruled the complete ban on smartphones. According to the court, it would not be wise to impose a complete ban on mobile.

Academic performance: There is a debate among the teachers Whether the use of smartphones is favourable to studies or not . Some teachers believe students are doing bad in regards to performance. A research by UNESCO reveals that students are doing well who are not using mobile.Use of technology are influencing their performances.

As a whole we failed to design a holistic policy in regards to the use of smart phone.

Some schools is not allowing to use smartphones in the school.Some schools are allowing their students to bring mobile phone but the school authorities never allowed them to use smartphones into the school.

How to develop such policy?

To cope with the problem we have to design a policy to protect the future of our children.Parrents take care of the use of smart phones by their children. School should take care of their students.It is a holistic issue of our system not of a particular authorities.To address the problem we should be careful and justified.
